Gulai
Gulai is a type of food containing rich, spicy and succulent curry-like sauce commonly found in Indonesia. The main ingredients might be poultry, beef, mutton, various kinds of offals, fish and seafoods, and also vegetables such as cassava leafs and unripe jackfruit. The gulai sauces commonly have a thick consistency with yellowish color because of the addition of ground turmeric. Gulai sauce ingredients consist of rich spices such as turmeric, coriander, black pepper, galangal, ginger, chilli pepper, shallot, garlic, fenne, lemongrass, cinnamon and caraway, ground into paste and cooked in coconut milk with the main ingredients. Gulai is often described as an Indonesian type of curry.

Barbequed chicken served in a mildly spicy thick coconut milk gravy.

Crispy fried chicken.

3) Ayam Gulai

Indonesian dish of chicken cooked in curry like spicy and succulent orange sauce called gulai.

4) Rendang Daging / Mutton
Simmered mutton beef cooked in spices, chilli and coconut mild cooked well until dried.

5) Dendeng Balado
Dendeng refers to thinly sliced dried meat in Indonesian cuisine. It is preserved through a mixture of sugar and spices and dried through the frying process and topped with chilli sambal.

Cow stomach / fish cooked in curry like spicy and succulent yellowish sauce called gulai.

Fish head gulai served in a claypot.

8) Ikan Panggang

Indonesian charcoal grilled marinated with coconut applied with a brush during grilling, fish is one of the classic Indonesian dish.


9) Udang Kalio

Prawns cooked in a style similar to rendang; while rendang is rather dry, kalio is watery and light colored. An authentic padang seafood cuisine.

10) Sotong Gulai
Squids cooked in curry like spicy and succulent yellowish sauce called gulai.

11) Acar Timun
Made from small chunks of cucumber, carrot, shallot, bird's eye chilli and occasionally pineapple, adn marinated in a sweet and sour solution of sugar and vinegar.

12) Sambal Goreng
A mixture of long beans, soy patties, known as tempeh and fried beancurd.

13) Pariaman Omelette
Fluffy and choc-a-bloc omelette with mildly peppery green chillis and sweet caramelized onions.

14) Telur Rebus Balado
Hard boiled egg with large sliced chilli pepper.

15) Bagedel
Deep-fried mashed potato mixed with minced beef and coriander and coated with egg.
